i climbed to the top of something else.

climbed to the highest point in eugene, spencer's butte. much hillier that i expected. i was sweaty, tired, and stinky, and of course pretty.

So we made it to the Oregon Coast. No exciting creatures, but there was the devil's churn...

Eugene. Finally.

We have been here for a few days. And it is quite enjoyable. My place is nice and my room is still clean. These are the only pictures I have taken and they are from the saturday market. They have music, food, crafts and a farmers market. and cute kids everywhere. this boy is one of them. he was very well dressed and was also trying to catch the water falling off of the tent dad and i stood under in his mouth. it was pretty fantastic but unfortunately did not get documentation. but you get a taste of his outfit.

I have learned a few things though about oregon:
you do not pump your own gas here. i am not sure how i feel about that. Oregon is one of 2 states that do this, Rhode Island is the other.

Recycle your cans and bottles at the grocery to get 5 cents/bottle back.

I have to get used to new brand names: best foods=helmans and fred meyers=kroger. i think there were some others. but i forget.

miss everyone!!!

more bellingham

so everything is out of order again cuz i cant get used to blogspot. anyways... we hiked a bit during our stay in bellingham and this is the view from the top of the little hill thing we climbed. we could could almost see canada.

these are all from our hike up. moss covered alot in the woods, and monster sized ferns grew all over the place. it was nice.

witch legs.

pretty lake....
i mean ocean.

bellingham wa

west coast starfish are giants.

and mulit colored!!!!

barnacles and muscles

they looked like goo from a distance.

stacie and i should have moved here a long time ago....

we finally arrived to dad's friend john's house. Here i listened to may crazy stories of the days when they used to "tiger up" and got a taste of the coast. We were also a few hundred miles shy of 3000 when we arrived. ew.

north cascades

fruit stand before we got to the cool part of washington. we tried the apples (duh), peaches and pears. washington kind of rules.

North Cascades: the mountains i wanted to see.

Diablo. weird turquoise water. something with the rocks? whatever, it's pretty amazing.

We didn't climb this one, but this is by far a better picture.
the cascades are by far the best mountain range i have seen. The are the snow covered mountains I wanted to see on the trip. Yellowstone was crazy but most of it was dead due to fires. thumbs up cascades.

spokane(spocan) wa

another weird thing we saw in the fine super 8 parking lot... a truck full of pigeons. i have no clue.

one of the weirder things i saw on the trip: a gas station with a connected casino. seems like trouble.

We climbed 2000 feet to the highest point in the park.

Boiling mud. mmmmmm...
